Role focus: Connecting, supporting and developing
As the Head of Group Energy, Andrew leads the team with a strong focus on connecting people, aligning strategies, and supporting the group’s energy and emissions goals. Andrew is constantly seeking new knowledge and understanding what motivates different people and teams. This helps him tailor his approach to bring out the best in others, while continuing to develop innovative energy and sustainability solutions across the business.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys running, mountain biking with his kids, and cheering on the Canberra Raiders. He’s always looking for new challenges — whether that’s tackling a 10K race, exploring a new trail, or learning something new to bring back into his work and life.
Katrina Boyd, Sustainability Manager
Role focus: Emissions reduction, circular economy, ESG reporting
As Sustainability Manager, Katrina leads initiatives that help embed sustainability into every layer of the business. Katrina has a natural ability to envision what a more sustainable future could look like – and the drive to turn that vision into action. She thrives on transforming ideas into outcomes, inspiring others to take part in the journey towards a lower-carbon, more circular business.
Outside of work, Katrina loves travelling, exploring new places and discovering fresh experiences that spark her curiosity and creativity. Whether it’s planning her next trip or trying something closer to home, she brings that same sense of curiosity and momentum to everything she does.
Sophie Familton, Certification Systems Manager
Role focus: Product Certification, chain-of-custody, and compliance
With a strong background in manufacturing, quality management, and process improvement, Sophie brings a practical, systems-driven approach to her role. Sophie thrives in complex environments – a vital strength in the ever-evolving world of product certification and illegal logging compliance. Much like a conductor, Sophie enjoys managing all the moving parts, aligning and rearranging them to ensure multiple standards, processes and stakeholders work in harmony.
Outside of work, Sophie enjoys spending time with her kids, hitting the gym, and is one day looking forward to travelling Europe with her children.
Somesh Valse, Graduate Data Analyst
Role focus: Making data work
With a background in data science, Somesh brings analytical rigour and curiosity to the way Group Energy measures and interprets performance. Behind every initiative is a strong data foundation — and that’s where Somesh comes in. He supports energy, solar, and emissions reporting across all our sites, ensuring every insight is backed by accurate and reliable numbers. Somesh enjoys tackling complex data challenges — uncovering patterns, solving problems, and finding smarter ways to visualise and use information.
Outside of work, Somesh enjoys playing guitar, hiking and reading book, and hopes.
